Strength at Home was originally developed for military service members and Veterans through a grant from the Department of Defence, and the evaluation and implementation of the Strength at Home Couples program has been supported by Department of Defense grant funding since 2015.
The Strength at Home programs consider the role of trauma throughout the lifespan and the program is truly trauma-informed and sensitive to the unique experiences of this population. Strength at Home and Strength at Home Couples are the only intimate partner violence prevention interventions shown effective through randomized controlled trials. No other such program has shown positive intervention effects through clinical research. For this reason, the VA Healthcare System has only endorsed the Strength at Home programs as evidence-based practice for Veterans served within VA.
Thousands of providers for service members and Veterans have been trained in the Strength at Home programs. If you would like to arrange a training for your service or group of providers, virtually or in-person, contact us here.
